since Jurassic times, though it was thought to be long extinct. A tiny relict population was discovered in the Blue Mountains where they have grown undisturbed since the age of dinosaurs. Less than 100 trees survive today in that remote location. However the tree has now been cloned and made available to institutions and tree lovers around the world. Like many Australian native plants Wollemi Pine is highly sensitive to Phosphate in the soil and special nutrients are needed to get the best performance from these ancient plants.
