The All-in-One UV Pump utilizes a UV-C lamp.
But what is it and how does it work? UV is the abbreviation for ultra-violet, and UV-C stands for the wavelength that is used: 254 nanometres (nm). The reason UV-C is used is that this has been shown to be the most effective wavelength for eliminating micro-organisms such as fungi and bacteria. UV-C radiation damages the DNA of the micro-organisms, causing them to become inactive. The UV-C lamp is surrounded by a glass tube made of quartz glass.
This is because quartz glass allows UV waves to pass through.
This is necessary because the water is pumped past the quartz glass tube, allowing the UV-C radiation to do its work – destruction of the micro-organisms in the water. Consumption Pump
